In addition to being a finalist for the Pen/Faulkner and winner of an Anisfield-Wolf Book Award for Fiction, Kind One has just been named a finalist for the Pen USA Literary Award in Fiction. Congratulations to Ramona Ausubel who was the winner.

An essay I wrote, “A Bottle of Water in Brazzaville”, is in today’s New York Times Opinionator .
